Background

Internal-defect detection in steel plate, welds and thick-walled metal parts is a key step in metallurgical quality control. Conventional ultrasonic and X-ray methods are limited on high-temperature, high-speed production lines.

Our solution

The DEMT-8 digital electromagnetic tomography instrument operates in metal-flaw-detection mode: an 8-channel coil array applies an alternating magnetic field to the part under test and captures the secondary-field perturbation at defects; imaging up to 400 fps matches the line cadence.
